   I agree she should be locked up. She should’ve gone to court as adult, because of the nature of the crimes and like you mentioned, the lack of remorse. She turned the apology letter into more of a self-pitying thing.
   Umm…although she did kill her family, it doesn’t mean she will kill again. There is high likelihood of it, but also she didn’t do most of the dirty work herself. She manipulated somebody else into it. Can’t just ‘watch out for a Jasmine Richardson’.
   Additionally “Jasmine likes to dress goth, is bisexual, a Wiccan, and her hero is Marylin Manson. Her interests according to her myspace page, which is now down are: unnatural hair colors, dark poetry, criminal psychology, blood, human anatomy and kinky sh*t.” Come on. What the hell? Those are fine interests. Nothing wrong there. I know many people into all those things and there’s no way they would do such horrible shit.
   It’s her. She can’t blame anybody/anything for this, but herself.
   Somehow I don’t think she’ll be released so easily. They leave the sentence as it is now, but when the release date looms close, they’ll do whatever they can to change it around. Public will apply a lot of social pressure on politicians to.
   Let’s hope she stays behind bars.

   Hm, as a young lady living close to the city in question as well as beng close to the age in question, i completely agree she should have gotten a much harder time. She was oviously able to think as an adult, why not try her as one?
   But i dislike all the blame on the gothic styling.
   I happen to be quite fond of the gothic arena (as well as quite often angry at my parents) but would never fathm such a thing…could never fathm such a thing…
   I don’t have an evil ang ugly enough imagination.
   I love my country, but we are much too easy going;
   this praticular young lady oviously had *many* issues.
   I don’t know what turned her this way, but at this point i do not care.

   I just read about this girl, and I am sadden to hear of what she did to her little brother. It hurts to know that his last words were “I am scard, I am too young to die…please don’t kill me” he beg her for crying out loud. How could the judge have heart for her, and the system needs to change this age thing. It just makes me wonder that all these kids who knows if they are under fifteen can take advantage of the law. She killed them in cold blood, like it was a fantacy she was longing for, and then she laughs about it with her boyfriend in a near by resturant as it is said by witness. She is really getting away with murder. So sad, so sad. My heart goes out to that little boy and the parents.

   I do not feel for young Jasmine. I am a true christian, but I do believe we all should take responsibility for our actions. Three innocent people lost thier lives that day,(not to mention a young child) three people that were her FAMILY. Although her actions may haunt her for the rest of her life, those three victims will NEVER breathe another day. This act was clearly thought out, this was not an out of the blue decision. I know that Jasmine herself was a child, but if she had the knowledge to premeditate a murder of three individuals, she should have recieved a harsher sentance. Maybe not an adult sentance, but a sentance long enough to give JUSTICE for the lives that were lost. Justice may never be served, but a lifetime in prision will not bring that family back. As for the rest of Jasmines life, she will remember. She will remember that night, she will remember the BEGGING for mercy, she will remember the TEARS and most of all, the look in her brothers EYES. That alone will be Jasmines sentance. She has no family, she will only have the memories. And as for her (FRIEND) from jail, I will take her comment with a grain of salt. Healthy minded individuals are not so forgiving to murderers…..even if she was only 12. I can only hope that Jasmine takes all the mental help she can get while she can, because out in the real world, people will not be so forgiving. All those CHILDREN that are supporting her now, they will grow up. They will be just as disgusted with themselfs for not having any common sense.

    I was in CYOC..Calgary youth offenders center..with her last year in oct. spent alot of freetime talking to her…about everything but what happen to her family….but what i’ve read and what i know…. her mothers sister(aunt) is adopting her so she doesn’t grow up without a family….

    She doesn’t show any remorse.. but when you look at somebody and they have that look on there face like there’re thinking about something…or you can tell somethings very wrong with the person….is the look she
    has at most of the time… the girls in the center look out for her being young…so the remorse everyone was looking for she hides for her own time..and chooses not to show it..

    As bad as she’s done…everybody makes mistakes…some larger than others….but with the grief of knowing you killed your family…imagine what that does in your head…a and how bad it eats you up inside…day in and day out….

    This is for all the “girls” who are defending Jasmine. You as well are some sick minded individuals. No “Normal” human being would defend such a person capable of MURDERING her family! I dont care how sweet or caring she may be to you, she turned HERSELF on her whole family! Imagine what she is capable of doing to someone who is not in her family. Im not saying she will never change……for her sake I hope she does. But in my eyes and in most of the society’s, she will ALWAYS be a monster. The sad part of the whole thing, is when she gets out she will get a new identity and start a new slate. No one will know her. As for the statement saying her mothers sister is adopting her, if true, I WILL pray for this Aunt. May god keep her and her family safe from the monster Jasmine has become………..
    I may be a christian, but under NO circumstanes would I EVER allow that girl into my home.
    I am not judging Jasmine, only God may do so. And TRUST me, he already has. Judgement Day will come for Jasmine………..

    I met jazmine in cyoc too and honestly i just found her annoying. She may not seem crazy but even i’m a completely different person with other people than i am with my family. I hate my family too and we physical fight but to kill them takes a very strong cold state of mind that i don’t have. Jazmine still acts like a child and enjoys all the attention she’s getting. She’s not going to mature at all, even in a psychiatric unit. If anything that drives people even more insane with the depression that comes with being locked up and treated like a criminal or a psycopath. I just hope some good psyciatrists are working on kicking that thought out of her head that it’s cool to be famous for anything, even murdering people before even hitting puberty. Hopefully her case goes up for a thorough review before she gets released after the psych. treatment because right now i know she’s still a high risk offender, especially with a bf who at the age of 23 still hasn’t realized how to be an adult. I understand all you other people who were in cyoc with her too think she’s sweet but you’ve only seen her in this environment. She’s still satisfied with her accomplishment so if she wasn’t in jail and thought she wouldn’t get caught or could run away i’m sure she wouldn’t be oppossed to killing the next person who got in her way and possed a big enough obstacle for her. Most people charged of crimes have been charged before. Unfortunatly it’s almost always a fact that once a criminal, always a criminal. It’s like a person who tries drugs once, after that it’s not a very big deal to them to do it again. Or a girl who has sex for the first time, once you lose your virginity the next few times aren’t as big of a deal as the first time. You don’t spend forever debating those anymore once you’ve done them because you’re farmiliar to them and it just comes as an instinct then. Although this is more serious than doing drugs or having sex, it’s still the same deal, you know what it feels like and you’re capable of doing it.

Saying “oh only God can judge me” doesn’t absolve anyone from responsibility. I also wish you jackasses would learn what God’s judgment really is. God decides who goes to heaven and who goes to hell. It is not our place to make that decision. So when people say you are going to hell they are wrong, because people always can change their ways. However, telling someone that they are doing wrong or have done wrong, and punishing the for their actions is not judgment. It is well within the rights of members of society to establish a set of values and to hold other members accountable. This whole “only god can judge me” attitude is adopted by people who refuse to hear that they are a piece of shit and doing wrong. Most of the time they know this already so they have come up with this paper thin argument to make themselves feel better.

    I live in Medicine Hat where she lived, and I am very good friends with a girl who was like best friends with Jacob Richardson (her 8yr old brother) and she went to the same school as him, then I met a girl who actually knew her, but when she knew her she said she was nice, and that was only a few weeks before she killed her family.
